Connect-In-Place (CIP) is a non-profit startup dedicates to provide quality education, community, and mentorship to bridge the opportunity gaps of online learning. As a volunteer-based organization, CIP always seeks for college students and professionals to help with managing and assisting with the organization mission and improvement.
When coming onboard as the Head of Branding and Design, I realized the lack of design and brand management within the organization - there was no guideline on how the brand should be used. The brand representation on all platform, especially social media, was also scattering and inconsistent.
A standard brand guideline and design process was immediately developed and made aware across the board. Following was the establishing of consistency through template creation for internal and external documents, as well as social media campaign. Within a couple weeks, there were significant changes to the CIP brand representation and design process: more consistent, professional and organized, faster turnaround time and better quality control on design and branding.
Timeline: June 2021 - October 2021
My Role(s): Lead Designer, Design Manager
In order to refresh the social media platform layouts and keep the CIP brand up-to-date, several social media campaign templates are created - including: CIP Ops Spotlight, The Best Resources for —, Tips and Tricks, followed the brand guidelines. These templates also act as examples for other future social media campaign posts and templates.
For accessible, budget-friendly and efficient solution, all graphics are designed in Photoshop, then imported to Google Slides to create the templates. By doing so, those who are involved in creating campaigns, scheduling social media posts, etc. would be able to access and update without having to wait for the only one person who has access to Photoshop at the time - which was me.
Puzzle pieces and brand colors are often used in various assets for different purposes, include: Google Form headers, social media posts, internal and external documents, miscellaneous graphics and designs.
